Carissa began her career as an educator at the University of South Dakota Department of Dental Hygiene in 2001 and has assisted students with their clinical radiographs for over two decades. In addition to clinical practice and instruction, since obtaining her Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education in 2011, Carissa has taught a plethora of didactic and clinical courses at USD and serves as the department’s Interprofessional Education champion. She has been involved in several radiology certification courses and has presented radiology continuing education programs for several years. Carissa is an active member of the American Dental Education Association. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and is a proud Fellow of the ADHA.
